I work as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Helsinki, Faculty of Educational Sciences. My research focuses on emotions, engagement, and motivation related to learning, particularly in the context of science education and authentic learning environments. My aim is to produce research-based knowledge that helps develop teaching in ways that best support both individual learning and development, as well as global well-being and sustainable development. I have a background in secondary education as a science teacher and as a school counselor.
I got my PhD from the University of Helsinki in 2023. Currently, I work in the EDUCA (Education for the Future) Flagship project funded by the Research Council of Finland, where I study, for example, individual learning processes and the impact of technology on learning and teaching, as well as teachers’ competencies and changes in their work. Previously, I have worked as a postdoctoral researcher, doctoral researcher, and research assistant in several national and international research projects at the universities of Helsinki, Jyväskylä, and Oulu, and as a visiting researcher at Aalto University during 2023–2024. In the Young Academy Finland, I want to contribute to the development of science and research in Finland and globally, promote interdisciplinary dialogue, and bring an educational science perspective to societal discussions.
