I study geometric mathematical modelling of physical phenomena and especially the use of geometric tools in indirect measurements. I develop the theory of indirect measurements or inverse problems away from toy models in a direction where theoretical results of pure mathematics have more physical significance. At the moment I focus mainly on global seismology and geometrization of elastic waves and its applications. I work as an academy research fellow and I am on leave from a tenure track position at Tampere and a lecturership at Jyväskylä.
