I am a PhD in space physics from the University of Oulu, where I study the long-term variation of the Sun and the heliospheric modulation of cosmic rays. I especially utilize neutron monitor and spacecraft measurements in order to model the space weather, space climate and radiation environment of near-Earth space and the wider heliosphere. Currently I study the structure of the heliosphere in my SOCRATES Academy Researcher project, in which I try to illuminate the heliospheric magnetic variation by employing precise models and big datasets. I’m also a participant in studying the effects of a weakened geomagnetic field in ERC Synergy project GERACLE and a member of the collaboration of AMS-02 particle instrument onboard the international space station.
I defended my PhD in 2023 at the University of Oulu, after which I worked a year as a postdoc in Italy at the University of Perugia and the Italian nuclear physics institute. After my postdoc period abroad, I returned to Oulu, where I have worked at the Sodankylä Geophysical Observatory, and currently at the Space Physics and Astronomy Research unit starting my academy researcher project SOCRATES. I have also widely participated in Academic community positions, such as the Board of Directors at the University of Oulu and the Union of Research Professional (Tieteentekijät), and many other smaller local and national positions.
My family consists of my wife and two daughters. My hobbies include historical European martial arts (HEMA) and computers.
