As a researcher, I combine methods from different disciplines in an open-minded way in my search for answers to questions related to the ecological crisis. My aim is to identify mindsets and ways of living – as individuals and communities – that are key to social-ecological sustainability. I am particularly interested in exploring the nexus between nature conservation and sustainability issues. In collaboration with an transdisciplinary team, I have explored forms of human-nature relations, applying art-based methods. I started my research career as an ecologist and this is reflected in the way I have targeted my work on different ecosystems, from traditional rural landscapes to boreal forests and all the way to the seas.
