Contemporary legal history analyzes the beginnings and the change of the law of our times. My research interest is law as a societal phenomenon, affected by political decisions, economical considerations, international fore figures and existing legal institutions. My research has been focused on the legal phenomena of the independent Finland. My doctoral dissertation presented an interpretation of the birth of the Finnish financial markets of the 1980’s. My postdoctoral work has analyzed the relationship of the Supreme Administrative Court and the Finnish society as well as the Finnish police training. My forthcoming research takes a look at modernization of law through the change of aviation law. Another project analyzes the annual reports of the parliamentary ombudsman. I am on leave from the task of Senior Specialist, Legal Affairs of the Ministry of Finance.
