I am interested in the neural basis of attention. I have studied, for example, what happens in the brain when we try to multitask. I utilize modern brain imaging methods to see what happens in the brain when people concentrate intensely on a task. I have also studied how different forms of technology use affect attentional abilities and brain development in young people. I have shown, for example, that playing video games is associated with more efficient orienting of attention. I work as a post-doctoral researcher in the Attention and Memory Networks research group at the University of Helsinki (https://blogs.helsinki.fi/attention-memory-brain/).
